I notice with interest, that they haven't responded to any of the queries on their forum regarding planning permission, so perhaps they didn't get any.
I must've missed that Lizzie. Interesting that he encourages retrospective application - and rather unfortunate if the planning authority subsequently refuses permission and tells you to remove it. I speak from experience, as exactly that happened to me two years ago (only with a garden shed, though, and I did win on appeal) - but that's another story. Planning authorities should, of course, be actively encouraging and promoting this sort of eco building now, but of course they aren't.
I dont know if they are but they should be. It is very low impact compared with more 'official' low impact.
We had a similar problem with our conservatory/extension. The council said we didnt need planning consent however they changed their minds after we had built it, because we have a road at the bottom of our garden rather than backing onto another garden. Apparently being closer to a public highway made the difference even though we had no access. Fortunatley planning consent was obtained but there was a few sleepless nights!
I love it! I want one. It looks a lot like the cob houses I was looking at.
ReplyDeleteLovely idea, but you'd SO never get planning permission for something like that where I live!

ReplyDeleteCaroline, he has a section on planning consent but he encourages retrospective application!!!
