De-cluttering

for some mad reason we decided it was a good time to get a kitten, which somehow turned into three kittens. The are cute and gorgeous but it is 30 degrees and we cant open the windows (not had all of their jabs yet plus they are not yet neutered)so it is hot and nasty in here. And there are litter trays, which is also nasty. And then there are the times when something else gets mistaken for the litter tray. Looking on the bright side, kittens are very cute but only stay completely bonkers for about 6 months, maybe a year, so things should settle down. Once they are fully jabbed and neutered then we can open all the windows and doors (glorious). When they are in whizz around the house like a hurricane mode lots of things are getting broken, which is really helping my de-cluttering process.

This is Tiger Lily, who was known as Lorenzo until the vet suggested she might not be a guy. I haven't put a photo of the three of them cuddled up together as I don't want anyone overwhelmed by their adorable cuteness :). no bias here at all!

  1. Wow! 3. How did that happen? Did you water them and they multiplied? So cute! We could have a cute photo war, your kittens verses my puppies.

    1. We have everything open very slightly now and the fan facing inwards pulling the cool air in.
I have noticed that a great way to get people to put stuff away or throw it away is to saw what a shamew it would be if a kitten left a 'gift' for them. Place should be empty soon!

  3. What you need to do Lizzie is make an outdoor run for them. That way they will be outside for a good part of the day - safe and secure.
We find the best way to have a cool home is to close up during the day - windows and blinds/curtains as well and the open up later in the evening and overnight. Shame you can't do that yet - if you make an enclosure they could sleep outside on warm nights.
As an aside we have cat curfews here where I live - not allowed out overnight at all. Soon there will be a local ruling of cats confined to owners premises/garden daytime as well. Luckily Kiera doesn't wander but it's going to be a problem for some I know.

    1. Hi Vathy
The problem with our house is the big conseravtory on the back is designed to find all of the sun it can and bring it into us but we are following you advice now on shutting the sunshine out.
The little ones cant go out at all until after their inoculations as other cats come into the garden. Wow, would be tricky to ensure some cats are home at night, These are all of Blue Russian extraction (I am told!) which means they are generally home loving, so hopefully I wont have too much wandering trouble, especially if they are neutered at a nice early age.
Talking of encloures I could happily sleep out there myself right now!
