Lots doing but no headaches

I am fed up with saying how busy it is but still seems to be. Maybe its not so busy and I am just really dis-organised. Definitely needing more structure.

However in spite of organisational failing this week we still had a good week. The downstairs bathroom is actually finished. YAAAYY! That means the sitting area in the conservatory is back to normal, without an actual lavatory pan in the middle of it. The electrician came to wire the electric for the extension into the main house power and also check and certify all the electrics. Should have taken a day but he wasn't happy with some of the work so it will be at least three days (leaving me with no money again no doubt). All the same it is good that it is being done.

Decluttering continues with a trip to recycling centre, some freecycle ads, two trips to the charity shop and some potential ebay sales. I like the combination of selling and giving. I can have a good conscience but also some cash.

I changed my mobile contract to give me more minutes and more texts for a reduction of £5 per month. I was also due for an upgrade of my handset. My old handset is fine so I have ordered my new (free) one to sell on ebay. It seems to be perfectly legal.

I have also dig some of my jewellery finding out of the attic to sell on ebay. I am guessing they dont go for much but they are worth more on ebay than in my attic, so that is a project for this week.

Trying something new to get rid of my headches and migraines. This is the end of the third week without carbihydrate and I feel fantastic (and four kilo lighter). Not a single headache. I have a proper craving for toast which apparently could mean that my problem is wheat. I have re-introduced carb filled vegetables but so far am avoiding bread, pasta, rice, potato, bulgar wheat & anything containing sugar or flour. It is early days yet but I wish I had tried this 15 years ago....

Meet this georgous fella and do a good deed for the weekend

Isn't he adorable. For a chance to win him, click through to Muttering from The Moor

I had a half day today. I got most of my laundry finished an had a bit of a clear up. I filled up the fridge with salad and veg. Tomorrow it is just cleanig which is unavoidable. Then I planning some garden time & maybe to get my mending done(finally).

When Fahed comes home from work maybe we will light some charcoal and cook in the sunshine. I wont call this a firm plan becuse we know that that will just bring rain.

I love the weekend.

Hello, its me!

Been a bit quiet lately. I am trying to keep up with reading everyone's news but its a bit sporadic. It is fun when I have the time for some serious catching up though.

Fahed had the weekend off this weekend. We planned a weekend of frugal fun (which was more fun that its sounds, honestly. Saturday we drove went to pick up the chicken to refill the freezer. We then decided to drive the extra 20 miles into Oxford. No especially far from home but I have never visited. I was remiss. We parked at the park and ride (free)and took the bus into the town. £4 return for the two of us. We were dropped in the shopping area, which is wasted on us ( I heard Fahed muttering I don't spend my life in 3 feet of water to hand over money at this rate, when he saw some lovely boots for £145).

The indoor market was lovely and I was in awe of the wedding shop within. All the artists were sitting in the window working on the cakes. That is a skill I covet. Maybe something new to think about. The buildings and river were so beautiful, just overwhelmingly beautiful.

The next day we planned a trip to the car boot sale, a visit to friends, to the Asian supermarket to stock up with chillies for a pickling session, a barbecue in the garden for dinner. However the tamazepam took over and it was all too much for Fahed so instead I did housework and he slept for the 36 hours! What a disappointment. I cant wait for this course of medication to end. Saturday was lovely though, dwell on the good bits.

Sleep free zone

We are all pretty poor sleepers around here unfortunately. Jamal is the best of us and even he has nights where sleep completely eludes him. Ahdels girlfriend Bonnie can just just sleep whenever she is tired, like having a big two legged cat. We are all jealous. Last evening we all wanted to sleep early as Fahed, Ahdel & Bonnie had to be up at 6 to go to the triathlon today. Fahed and I were definitely still awake at almost 2am, taking it in turns to ask if the other was asleep yet. Ahdel was awake at 4.30am. Only Bonnie had a full nights sleep. I hope she knows she has to keep the other two awake and alert all day too. There are apparently plenty of bacon rolls and cups of coffee, so that should help.

Jamal is also out all day with various friends and not back until tomorrow evening. He is kindly doing all my heavy tasks before he leaves. I have no excuse not to finish sorting out my office now that he has re-arranged my furniture for me. He is also emptying my boot and flattening down the seats so that I can collect his bike, with a flat tyre, from our friends house later.

It has started to rain so I didn't have much chance with the garden, but not too worry, there is more than enough to do in doors. Also we have a mystery dine tonight so yummy food that I dotn have to cook. All good.

My life

My wonderful husband has died. He was in hospital for some weeks but this was very unexpected. I won’t be reading or writing for the foresee...
